Marla R. Starnes, LCSW
Are you feeling overwhelmed? Do you have days that you just don't feel good about yourself? Do you turn to food or other negative habits as a way to cope?
I help people feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or having trouble moving on from the past by teaching skills to manage negative feelings, cope in a crisis and improve relationships with others. I want to help you feel happier and more fulfilled in life.
Get to Know Me
As a mom who is continuously striving to find a balance in this modern world, I combine my fourteen years of experience as a clinical social worker with my real life experiences of being a working mom. I have experience treating a variety of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, eating disorders and trauma. As a mom to three little ones, I am also in the trenches of figuring out this parenting thing. My approach is best described as a combination of validating your emotions and helping you find new ways to cope and juggle life as it is ever changing. I have extensive training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I accept United Healthcare, Oscar Health, and Oxford and Aetna insurances. I can also provide a superbill for those wanting to use out of network benefits. I look forward to hearing from you and how I can help you heal.
I Want to Hear From You
Are you looking to make a positive change in your life? Are you ready to get unstuck from old unhelpful patterns? Managing past traumas and current dysfunction can be hard to tackle on your own. If you are ready to heal let me help you in this process.
